Swabs collect skin cells (buccal cells) that shed off from the inside of
your mouth with saliva. These skin cells contain the DNA we use for testing.

Forensic Sample
If
you are unable to obtain swab or hair
samples for logistic or confidentiality
reasons, using a forensic DNA sample is an
excellent option.
Examples of forensic samples include,
but are not limited to:
- Dried blood stains on
bandages, tissue, cotton, paper, swabs
- Dried stains on underwear, sheets, pads,
tampons
- Dried semen stains on tissue, underwear,
clothing
- Dried saliva from
toothbrushes, bottles, cans, cigarette butts, stamps,
used tissue
- Razors shavings from electric razor
- Bone, teeth, tissue (from
a deceased individual)

Your result time depends on your sample
type. If you use two different sample types,
your results will be ready according to
later result time. For example, if use hair
and blood samples, your results will be
ready in 9-10 days (the result time for
blood samples).
